About Screen Size Detector
Screen Size Detector is a free, privacy-focused tool that instantly reads your display specs right in the browser. No downloads, no tracking, and no account required.
How It Works
When you open the homepage, your browser exposes a built-in window.screen object that contains your native resolution, color depth, and available screen area. We also read window.devicePixelRatio to estimate DPI and pixel density, and calculate your aspect ratio and physical size using standard assumptions. Everything happens locally in your browser — no data is sent to a server.
What We Detect
- Native screen resolution (width x height)
- Viewport size (visible browser area)
- Aspect ratio (e.g., 16:9, 21:9)
- Estimated DPI and pixel density (PPI)
- Color depth (bits per pixel)
- Estimated physical screen size in inches or centimeters
- Device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop)
Who Made This
Screen Size Detector was built by a small team of developers and designers who were tired of hunting through system settings just to confirm a display resolution. We wanted a fast, clean, and shareable way to check screen specs — whether you are debugging a responsive website, buying a monitor, or helping a friend troubleshoot their display.
The site is open to everyone and designed to work reliably across phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop monitors. If you find it useful, feel free to share your resolution link with others.
